On Sunday we tested the oven that we completed on Friday, baking a dish of yams. Peruvians eat a lot of yams, both hot and cold, for everything from breakfast to dinner. Here MatÃas and Alfredo are preparing the stove for its first lighting. At this point we still hadn´t insulated the brick combustion chamber. It needs to be wrapped in fiberglass and aluminum foil to avoid wasting a lot of the heat from the fire.
